On May 21-23, 2014 in Perm the Russian research and practical conference with international participation “Current issues in health safety and health risk assessment under the influence of the environmental hazards” has been held. The Conference was organized within the framework of the plan of basic activities of the Federal Service on Customers' Rights Protection and Human Well-Being Surveillance (Rospotrebnadzor).
Experts of FBSI “Federal Scientific Center for Medical and Preventive Health Risk Management Technologies” took part in the meeting of the OECD Working Group on Consumer Product Safety, held in Paris on 3-4 April 2014.

The first issue of the journal "Health Risk Analysis" in 2014 has been published.
The issue highlights the materials on methodological support for the scientific assessment of control and supervision activity performed by Rospotrebnadzor. The experience of other Russian regions in risk assessment concerning foodstuff contamination has been highlighted as well as experimental models for assessment of contaminants’ toxicity exposure with the use of immunological research methods have been presented.
According to the plan of the basic organizational activities of the Federal Service for Customers Right Protection and Human Well-Being Surveillance for 2014, to be held on 21-23 May 2014 in Perm the All-Russian Conference with international participation “Current trends in health safety and health risk assessment under the influence of the environmental hazards” is planned.
On June 6, 2013, Vitaliy G. Kostarev successfully defended his PhD thesis (specialities: “Hygiene” and “Public Health”) at the meeting of the Dissertation Council D 208.067.04 at the Ye.A. Vagner’s Perm State Academy of Medicine.
The title of the thesis is “Hygienic Assessment of Risk Factors of Occupational Diseases in Employees in the Powder Metallurgy Industry”.
We congratulate the staff of the Sanitary and Hygienic Analysis and Monitoring Systemic Methods Department on their victory in the IX All-Russian contest named after N.I. Kareev for the best theoretical or applied project in the field of sociology.
N.A. Nesevrya, Head of the Social Risk Analysis Department, won “The Best Scientific and Methodical Project” competition (for her “Health Sociology” manual) and E.A. Ryazanova won “The Best Scientific and Practical Project” competition (for a series of articles dedicated to social factors analysis of factory workers’ health risks).
The first issue of the “Health Risk Analysis” journal, founded by the Federal Service on Customers' Rights Protection and Human Well-being Surveillance and the Federal Scientific Center for Medical and Preventive Health Risk Management Technologies, has been published.
The first issue of the journal covers original research articles and reviews on topical issues of health risk analysis by authors from such cities as Moscow, St. Petersburg, Perm, Lipetsk, Minsk and Almaty.
