Participation in the meeting of the OECD Working Group on Consumer Product Safety in Paris
Experts of FBSI “Federal Scientific Center for Medical and Preventive Health Risk Management Technologies” took part in the meeting of the OECD Working Group on Consumer Product Safety, held in Paris on 3-4 April 2014.
Fellow of the Russian Academy of Medical Sciences Nina V. Zaitseva made the report "Consumer goods (product) safety assessment for health in the Russian Federation. Effective tools and approaches".
The report presents new scientifically proven approaches in risk assessment of products, for the first time ever allowing consider the evolution of health risk, taking into account the duration and/or frequency of use of the product in different age cohort of consumers. The development of new technology risk assessment allows considering and assessing the simultaneous effect of a combination of diverse risk factors of production (chemical, biological, physical ones) per person, classifying the extent of injury to health. Iterative process of health risk assessment is used to justify the risk-based standards as criteria for the management of product safety.
