Cooperation with the Ministry of Health of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam in the field of Assurance of sanitary-and-epidemiological well-being

Within the cooperation program the Federal Service for Supervision of Consumer Rights Protection and Human Welfare and the Ministry of Health the Russian delegation visited Hanoi on 20-23 of November 2015

Prof. Irina V. May and Dr. Pavel Z. Shur - the experts of the Federal Scientific Center for Medical and Preventive Health Risk Management Technologies took part in this working trip.

The Russian and Vietnam delegations had a meeting in Common Russian and Vietnam Tropical Scientific Research center (Tropical center). Sides showed interest in common study of negative influence environmental factors on human health at the cellular and subcellular level.

The Russian team has demonstrated the scientific-research capabilities of the Russian scientific centre, when the team had been invited to the Administration of food safety Ministry of Health of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam. The Vietnamese experts told about quality and food safety problems and measures to improve the situation on Vietnamese consumer market.

The problems of health risk assessment were discussed. The Russian side presented the reports about the development of risk assessment methodology in Russia and the experience of justification of national standards for the risks of content of residues of antibiotics, veterinary drugs (for example, tetracycline and ractopamine) and microorganisms (for example, listeria) using health risk assessment methods.

The possibility of postgraduate training of the Vietnamese specialists in the Russian Federation has been also discussed as well as the research areas, which could be interesting for experts from Ministry of Health of Vietnam.

The Vietnamese side was interested in development of methods for identification and quantitative assessment of hazard factors in food products, as well as health risk assessment methods for food products. The sides had agreed about information exchange concerning the priority problems valuable for joint development.
