Participation in the “7th International Conference on the Science of Exposure Assessment”, in Edinburgh
Experts from the Federal Scientific Center for Medical and Preventive Health Risk Management Technologies attended the 7th International Conference on the Science of Exposure Assessment, which took place in Edinburgh on 2-5 July 2012.
The event was hosted by the British Occupational Hygiene Society and was devoted to the issues around the improvement of exposure assessment.
The conference brought together over 400 professionals from the UK, the USA, Canada, the Netherlands, France, Germany, Poland, Japan, China, India and other countries.
The 4-day conference programme included about 160 oral and poster presentations at the sessions devoted to exposure modeling, measurement-based assessment of exposure to chemical, physical and biological agents, spatio-temporal analysis tools and methods and nano-particle exposure assessment.
This was the first time that Russian experts had participated in this international event.
The poster presentations “Exposure Assessment Based on Simulation and Instrumental Data Conjugation (Ambient Air)” and “Simulation of Chronic Exposure to Fine Dust and its Components in the Area Influenced by Machine Building Facilities” given by Nina V. Zaitseva, PhD, DSc, Director, and Professor Irina V. May, PhD, DSc, aroused great interest among other conference participants and started many discussions.
The addressed issues were recognized as urgent, the scientific developments were considered to be very interesting and the presentation of the research results was viewed as highly professional.
Other conference participants reported that they would be delighted to see the research results published in leading European journals.
