The Project “A Multiphase Flow in the Antroduodenal Portion of the Gastrointestinal Tract Taking Into Account the Evolution of Functional Disorders: A Mathematical Model” was supported by Russian Foundation for Basic Research (RFBR)

The researches under the grant funded by Russian Foundation for Basic Research (RFBR) (16-01-00126) “A Multiphase Flow in the Antroduodenal Portion of the Gastrointestinal Tract Taking Into Account the Evolution of Functional Disorders: A Mathematical Model” (2016-2018) is still going on. The Project is intended to develop the model of “meso-level” of the digestive system within the framework of the multi-level model of accumulation of functional disorders in a human body as a whole. The aim of the project is to shape the multiphase flow model in antroduodenal portion of the gastrointestinal tract taking into account the basic functions: motor, secretory, suction, as well as mechanisms of neuro-endocrine regulation. The results of the project have both scientific and applied values. It will facilitate the understanding of digestive process mechanisms, as well as the mechanisms of accumulation of functional at peroral intake of chemical substances with water and food. It will become easier to assess and forecast the individual health risk. The model, that is being developed by the specialists from the department of mathematical modeling of systems and process, can be involved in prognosis of functional disorders development in antroduodenal portion (including the localization of pathological processes), as well as in determination of flow of chemicals into the blood, in solving the tasks of investigation of drugs delivery to bowel.
