Experience of Russian-Vietnamese Сooperation in the Development of Chemical Safety of Food Products
On November 12, 2013, in Hanoi (Vietnam), the Russian Federal Service for Surveillance on Consumer Rights Protection and Human Wellbeing (Rospotrebnadzor) and the Ministry of Health of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam signed the Memorandum of understanding on the cooperation in providing sanitary-epidemiological well-being of the population. The parties also agreed on the relevant program to assist Vietnam up to 2016. The program aimed to continue and develop activities implemented by Rospotrebnadzor to help the Socialist Republic of Vietnam protect public health against sanitary and epidemiological threats.
This cooperative program of Rospotrebnadzor that aims to help Vietnam provide sanitary-epidemiological well-being of the population involves bilateral interaction in variable aspects, including food safety traded between Russia and Vietnam, as well as staff training and joint research projects.
Scientific research institutions of Rospotrebnadzor, the Vietnam Ministry of Health, and the Joint Russian Vietnamese Tropical Research and Technological Center (Tropical center) play a unique role in strengthening this cooperation. The latter possesses a potent base for conducting joint research work in several vital fields, including food safety.
