Methodical Guidelines for New Analytical Chemistry Methods Approved
In September 2012, five methodical guidelines for new analytical chemistry methods, which were developed by the professionals of the Federal Scientific Center for Medical and Preventive Health Risk Management Technologies, have been approved by Head of the Federal Service on Customers’ Rights Protection and Human Well-being Surveillance and RF Chief Health Officer G.G. Onischenko. The guidelines are:
- Measuring Copper and Zinc Mass Concentrations in Bile Using Atomic Absorption Spectrometry. МУК 4.1.3037-12
- Measuring Acrylonitrile Mass Concentration in Ambient Air Using Capillary Gas Chromatography. МУК 4.1.3038-12.
- Measuring Ethylene Oxide (Oxirane) Mass Concentration in Ambient Air Using Capillary Gas Chromatography. МУК 4.1.3039-12
- Measuring Benzo(a)pyrene Mass Concentration in Blood Using High-Performance Liquid Chromatography. МУК 4.1.3040-12.
- Measuring Benzo(a)pyrene Mass Concentration in Urine Using High-Performance Liquid Chromatography. МУК 4.1.3041-12
The development of new analytical chemistry methods is among the most important research directions of the Scientific Center. Since 2009, 13 methodical guidelines for determining chemical compounds in human bio-samples and environmental media have been implemented.
Studies on the determination of chemical compounds in human bio-samples can serve as a key proof of the incidence of environment-related diseases, allow the assessment of the effectiveness of prevention and treatment technologies and the improvement of the methodology for developing environmental and biological standards. These studies may be used to assess complex anthropogenic impact with a specific area, draw up a plan of environmental protection measures and to carry out health and environmental monitoring.
